On October 8, 2024, MVISS received a new name, in ceremony, from Musqueam Elder Shane Point. We are grateful to Elder Shane for connecting our work to these lands with our new name, Slaxin Lelum, and TsuKwalton Jonas Jones for our new logo.

Slaxin Lelum translates to Medicine House, from Hunquminum to English. When you pronounce Slaxin Lelum, it sounds like “slacken laylum.”
